Susan Co-Ong is an internationally renowned pharmacist, tattoo artist, and entrepreneur. She graduated cum laude with a pharmacy degree at the University of the Immaculate Conception. She once taught higher chemistry and pharmacy at her alma mater, aside from operating her salon and her drugstore. Apart from being a professor and entrepreneur, Ms. Susan was a beauty title holder, drug inventor, and a recipient of various leadership awards. She underwent further trainings in aesthetics in Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, France, and USA.
Ms. Susan, apart from being Prettylooks’ CEO, is also a manufacturer of both Silverpeel and Prettylooks skin care products, among which include whitening creams; soaps; toners; face icing; face powders; the Silverpeel whitening system; and, miracle whitening treatment products.
Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Susan established Prettylooks in 1983, which has over 25,000 personalized treatments on Aesthetic Tattoo alone. Prettylooks has become a trade name in the Philippines and abroad, which can be attributed to her hard work, excellent personalized touch, and high aesthetic sense.
A clinical pharmacist by profession, Ms. Susan takes care of the Compounding Pharmacy Safety checklist of her clinic, and collaborates with the resident doctor, Dr. Rizalino dela Fuente. Because of the strict USP guidelines for compounding, she ensures the potency and safety of all finished compounds used in her clinics, especially in performing PH testing on injections and sterile formulations. Being a hands-on boss, Ms. Susan also performs daily monitoring and documentation of a clean room temperature. She makes sure that her staff are properly trained and evaluated in aseptic manipulation skills, gowning technique, and clean room use. In addition, she obtains certificates of analysis for all formula ingredients and maintains the master formulas.
Prettylooks’ 25 years in the beauty industry cannot be gainsaid, because of the utmost dedication of the staff and Ms. Susan’s continued leadership.
